This was bought as a replacement for an older model that had gone through the washing machine-I'm glad now it did!! This is an excellent upgrade which has good quality sound and the external stereo speakers are great. the additional video feature is great and overall its good value and quality

Very pleased with the sony, purchased for my six year mainly to stop her using my ipod for her audio books on car journeys and whilst away. Nearly had a bit of a hitch when I couldnt get the audio books to play but once converted they play perfectly. Easy to transfer iplayer programmes too and other films you have in avi format. Much easier than previous models for using music downloaded from itunes and even has speakers, screen a better size than previous models as well - all in all very pleased and will purchase again if second child starts requesting one!

This is an excellent MP3 player, unfortunately let down by such a small choice of docking speaker stations. Why Sony produces so many excellent MP3 players yet disregards such an useful accessory is beyond me, however, there are masses of docking stations for the ipod at very reasonable prices all over the internet and Sony even makes docking stations for them but very few for their own make???

I eventually decided to buy the Sony Walkmand NWZ S-544 MP3 8gb player with built in speakers, these give reasonable quality sound for personal listening (slightly tinny as you would expect) but excellent quality through the headphone. I also purchased, separately, the NWD300 Active speaker, which has a docking feature and gives very good quality sound through the built in speakers, not terrifically loud but ample, unfortunately, once docked the built in radio does not work but you can get around this by fitting a cable with earphone jacks on each end to the MP3 and the back of the speakers then pressing the line-in button. I bought the speaker dock from the Sony shop and was able to negotiate a 20% discount, everyones desperate to make a sale).

Transferring music to the player is a simple task using either Windows Explorer or the software provided and navigating through the play options is easy. All in all I would recommend this MP3 on price, quality of design and build and also ease of use but let down by the docking options.

Does not have the punch of a full set up but works suprisingly well! You even forgive it's lack of base omph after a while as it's sound is so good. This is a very solid performer for a PC set up. My 5.1 system broke and I got one of these as a stop gap - only now I am going to stick with it as I actually really like the sound, and the space savings are astonishing! The set up is perfect for gaming an light listening, if you want better quality you really need a full system with a separate sub.

My only complaints? A better base would have been nice and the dial on top glows annoyingly bright at night. Mind you, this and a good set of headphones for when I want to be lost in music serves me very well.

Bought this for my daughters 14th birthday, i read a few customer reviews on it and was convinced enough to buy it.
It arrived within 3 days of purchase and i opend it straight away, just to make sure it worked, even added a few songs on it for her to test how easy it was, was amazingly easy. I would highly reccomend, even if your not good with computers, its that easy to add your music,pictures and videos.The only gripe i have is the headphones, although suitable,but if you want quality sound you might preffer to buy a seperate pair, i bought sony earbuds and they show off the quality of the mp3 player.

This item only had one review so i thought i would share info on this great player. I am not by any means a computer geek or software specialist but i had a full length movie loaded in it the first night. Shocked Me!! It took about 4 minutes do download the whole 1.35 gb movie.Remember you have to follow instructions including downloading the converting software but that was very easy too.The fm radio works well with no problems.I was very surprised at how good the touchscreen works. Very easy to move around with soft touches. You do have to click twice but that soon becomes second nature.Easy to get through the video for fast forward. If you leave the movie and come back you can return to the same spot.Tried the micro mini sd slot (2gb is the only one i have) and the player reads it well.It charges very easily. The Mp3 player comes with a stylus but it is soooooooooooo tiny!!! We had a difficult time locating it on the player. The stylus is attached to the Mp3 player like the The Nintendo DS's stylus is. Very good buy overall.

A few days ago I got this mp5 for my little sister and she loves it the delivery was so fast as it was expected to come in 2 weeks instead it came in 2 days!!!it is very good the only down side is the stylus is hard to get out first time but it becomes more easy as you use it I wish I had one of these as they are so good and cool to show off infront of your friends and it is great value for money!!!

This unit has a great sound. The bass is really good for something so small. I used it as a bedside dock to have a clock on my iphone. However, I have sent it back as when the phone is charging with unit switched on, there was a faint hissing noise from speakers. A bit picky I know, but this was a major problem as the unit was switched on at night so that it could wake me up in the morning. A friend bought one also and sent his back as the transformer was buzzing.

Well you can't really fault the black bird part - nice and chunky and the sound is good. Unlike the incorrect description on the red bird speaker this one really does have a remote control.
But the cables - oh - the mains cable barely reaches the ground serverely limiting where you can place the item and and fixed cable between the dock and speaker is also way too short - the flimsey dock part is not particialurly nice to look at so you want to hide it away somewhat from the speaker but you can't plus short cable will not lie flat so again thwarted.

I will still give it 4 stars though as the speaker itself is great and let face it we all love AB but it could have been perfect with just a bit more thought and mininal cost but perhaps it's just me who is a visible cable loather?
Oh yes one more thing it does come in a brilliant gift box.

When i opened the box i saw a flat and compact peace of plastic, but when that peice of plastic was opened i saw a beautiful set of speakers. straight away i knew what i need to do. after a minuite or two it was up and working. great product. would recomend to anyone who likes there music loud.
